Academic Excellence
The strength of any university is the quality of its teaching and research. StFX has secured its position as a leading national university through a track record of excellence in both these areas. Students benefit from small class sizes (less than half of first and second year classes have more than 50 students) and a low student to faculty ratio of 16:1. StFX also has one of the highest percentages of tenured faculty who teach undergraduates from their first year through to graduation (more than 70%). This makes sure that X students have excellent opportunities to meet with faculty, participate in research, and to personalize their education in wide range of specialty areas.
Faculty of Arts

Faculty of Business and Information Systems
Through the integration of Business Administration and Information Systems departments, StFX is providing students with the tools they need to be leaders in today's knowledge-based economy through its Gerald Schwartz School of Business and Information Systems. With web-connected classrooms, a state-of-the-art information technology laboratory, expanded out-placement services and a focus on entrepreneurship, Schwartz School students can choose from a wide range of options in Accounting, Aquatic Resources, Economics, Enterprise Development, Finance, Information Systems, Leadership Studies, and Marketing.

At StFX, promising young scientist gain a solid academic foundation that leads to further study, award-winning research and exciting scientific careers. In addition to course-based research, many students assist in faculty research of the highest standing.
