Linkages with industry/real life experience. Each NSCC program has a required work term, so all of our students have the opportunity to be in real-work settings. Many programs, such as the Business Administration Diploma, or the Advanced Public Relations Diploma also provide the opportunity to complete projects with businesses throughout the year. Other programs provide great opportunity to learn by contributing skills to community projects and associations, such as the IT Diploma program or the carpentry diploma program.
Building partnerships. NSCC has several formal partnerships with successful businesses in Nova Scotia. The partnerships involve training, student work terms, joint applied research initiatives, and in some cases professional development exchanges for staff members.
Articulation agreements. Students may wish to continue their education after completing a program at Nova Scotia Community College. NSCC has developed articulation agreements with many post-secondary institutions ensuring full transferability of NSCC credits to other colleges and universities.
Promoting graduate employment. NSCC faculty, and student success staff, work with great enthusiasm to promote the skills and successes of graduates to employers across Nova Scotia and beyond. This work involves developing strong relationships with businesses in all economic sectors, and our graduate employment rates support the success of this work.
Feedback on programs and initiatives. NSCC works with hundreds of employers to solicit feedback on program curriculum and ideas. This powerful body of work ensures NSCC programs, and students, are meeting the needs of employers.
